I had a fantastic experience with Parts Plug. Their staff was knowledgeable, patient, and truly understood the needs of performance car enthusiasts. I was after a specific O-ring for my HKS BOV on an N54 build, and not only did they have exactly what I needed, but they also helped me confirm the correct size over the phone.

They removed the stock exhaust on my 2024 Z Performance and replaced it with an AWE Track exhaust. The price was fair for the work. I was consulted about the placement of the exhaust tips while I waited. I was consulted again about how I wanted the old exhaust placed in the hatch of the Z, and to ensure it didn’t scrape the interior. All in all, very efficient and courteous service. I highly recommend this shop!

Absolutely fantastic service. Answered my questions and addressed my concerns. These guys know there stuff. I got a PRL high volume air intake installed in my 2024 Honda Civic sport sedan. "Yeah yeah I know." Wasn't chasing gains or trying to make my car super fast because it's not. Although after the installation the car sounds fantastic. I'm extremely happy with the noise it makes now. Sounds sportier with a little angry growel. Like I said I'm not chasing gains or trying to race anybody. These guys did a fantastic job and it was a comfortable experience. There is a difference and it's noticeable no huge power gain but is a bit peppier sounds great. Thanks to the guys at parts plug

Honestly, one of the best shops I’ve dealt with. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and the work they do. They explained everything clearly, were honest about what I actually needed, and never tried to upsell me on things I didn’t need. Josiah was a huge help and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to BMWs. Nick, the technician, was also very helpful, and both of them were super friendly and easy to deal with. After dealing with them myself, I can honestly see how the 1 star reviews about their customer service are fake. My experience was the complete opposite. Why Get Your BMW Valves Cleaned?

Every direct-injection BMW petrol engine, including the N54, N55, N20 and N26, sprays fuel straight into the cylinder. The intake valves are never washed by fuel, so oil vapour from the crankcase ventilation system bakes onto them as carbon. Over time the deposits restrict airflow and disturb how the air enters the cylinder.

Signs Your BMW Needs a Cleaning

A rough or shaky idle, especially on a cold start
Misfire codes or a flashing check-engine light
Hesitation and lost power, most noticeable on turbocharged N54 and N55 engines
Rising fuel use with no other explanation

How We Clean BMW Valves

We remove the intake manifold, turn the engine so each cylinder’s valves are closed, and blast the ports with crushed walnut shell, which removes carbon without harming the metal. The debris is vacuumed out, every port is inspected, and the intake goes back together with new gaskets where needed.

How Often

BMW does not list carbon cleaning in its maintenance schedule. It is commonly done somewhere around every 80,000 to 100,000 km, sooner on tuned cars or when the symptoms above appear. It pairs well with spark plugs and ignition coils, since the engine is already partly apart.
